Demonstrating Learning, Tour-Builder Style!
Emily Roth
Are your students sick and tired of presenting information in the same way (a Google doc, iMovie, Prezi, etc)? Then, it's time you introduce them to the amazing tool called Tour Builder! Google Earth's Tour Builder marries the power of Google Earth with the beauty of digital storytelling. In this session, participants will create their own tour and discover a variety of ways this wonderful tool could be implemented across the curriculum and grade levels (elementary to university!). |

Discovery Session
...We will take a look at what Tour Builder is and how we might use it with students from all ages and across all subjects. Then, we'll think about how we can kick it up a notch and use this tool to redefine (SAMR) student learning.

DEEP Dive
...If you are new to Tour Builder, you'll first discover the tool by creating a tour of places you've lived and/or taught in your life (adding links, images, videos and text).
If Tour Builder is not 'new hat' for you, you will have the chance to dig right into creating something useful for your students, whether it be a Google Lit Trip for a novel they're reading or 'Story of Stuff' for your health class. Don't worry--we'll take some time to brainstorm ideas first!:) The goal is to walk away with something you can model for your students so they can create their own.
